Felix Kulpa – Pass it on

Coffee, sugar, ink, silkscreen, and thread are some of the materials that have been used in the Pass It On project. The only rule of engagement was that each of the artists involved had to “touch” the paper square at least once. This collaboration has waxed and waned over 4 years with squares being lost, found, driven over, burned, buried, cherished and abhorred. The artists worked on their on with the squares, sometimes starting a new one and often responding to what came before. Deleting and adding the group wordlessly critiqued and praised through the marks made and removed. The contributed idiosyncratic marks, stitches, tears, spills and patches shaped each square into its own identity.

The works completed in this cycle of collaboration will be on display from February 4th through the 27th at the Felix Kulpa Gallery along side individual pieces by each artist.
