FEBRUARY 5th, 2010

February 5th, 2010 Featured Artist:

Gazelle Rider

“The works for this installation were inspired by my two pet Pacific Parrotlets, Pie and Salsa. Parrotlets are the smallest species of parrots kept in
captivity yet their personalities are like those of a much larger parrot.
They are intelligent, active and feisty. They look cute and cuddly, and they can be...sometimes. The rest of the time they're sneaky and mischievous and know how to get what they want. They act like spoiled children sometimes, but I wouldn't have them any other way. Their silly antics are a source of constant amusement. This series came from my love and fascination for my feathered friends, I have tried to communicate their vibrant personalities through the use of pattern and color and with a variety of mediums”.

CLUE:

This month’s clue leads you to a long standing First Friday venue. In Latin, it’s name sujests fault or culprit, however don’t be fooled, this venue does not translate into Latin. “Mea”.

Good Luck on your hunt!

“I am just being myself, trying to do my music and art as a career and enjoy life with the ones I love before it passes me by.”
